G.E.C. 19,594
I was only a baby when Gazza signed and was still in pre school when he left so didn’t really have the benefit of seeing him. I always thought buying De Boer from Barcelona was something but Ramsey has be to the biggest for my generation.

Dickie1963 2,389
Gazza. Ramsey is very good but not on Gazza's scale. Mojo was a Scottish Big deal Gazza was a World football big deal. jintybear
Inigo 33,327
In terms of feel alone Gazza felt bigger. Probably on a par with Laudrup in those terms, maybe bigger because it's more unlikely these days. Felt less surprising by the time De Boer came along, so this feels bigger than that. DiamondDan 2,386
Gazza, he was probably the most famous footballer in the world at the time. De Boer was a huge signing as well.

Laudrupsleftfoot 12,231
Gazza, Laudrup, De Boer, Ramsay for me in that order. But considering where we are as a club now compared to mid-90s to early 00s Ramsay possibly eclipses the lot given how far from the norm this is. bluenose48 and Allyup

GOAT 30,449
As a player and name Gazza without a doubt. then laudrup. Also don’t overlook boli, previous seasons CL winner with the French cheats, full French international. Sadly never worked out the way it should have. KaiserJon 12,760
Gazza. Though Ramsey signing is unreal. Credit to the staff for getting this done, just seems unreal still.😋
Popular Post Colin Traive 23,841
Always thought signing England captain Terry Butcher was a huge statement but Souness and Gazza still tops. Ramsey biggest since Gazza imo. MurrayWilson, Ayrshire Blue, Monkey Butler and 4 others
STEPPS BOY 77,552
Started with the England captain and keeper and then imo culminating in Gazzas’ signing.
